About Knox : Student Care : Prizes & Awards

A large number of prizes are awarded at the annual Preparatory School Speech Day. These include 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and progress prizes to all classes in years 3 to 6. The majority of other prizes are awarded to Year 6 students.

  • The Colin Tan Memorial Prize for contribution to the School in Year 5 across all aspects of School life.
  • Citizenship Prize (the gift of the Knox Parents' Association) given to a member of each Year 6 class
  • The S M FitzSimons Open Scholarship for the Preparatory School
  • The James Forsyth Memorial Award for service to the Preparatory School in sport, music and drama
  • The OKGA Over 70's CLub Prize for contribution fo the School in Year 6
  • The L E A Robinson Memorial Prize for English
  • Personal Development/Health/Physical Education
  • The Mrs S W Cameron Mathematics Prize (the gift of Mrs S W Cameron)
  • The A D Tulloch prize for General Proficiency in the Preparatory School (the gift of Mr and Mrs A D Tulloch) for a boy who has given the best effort across the curriculum (in its widest sense) and achieved to the best of his ability.  It was originally envisaged this would not be a "high flyer" but rather, the ultimate "trier".

Sports and Studies awarded for top academic performance in conjunction with exceptional sporting ability, including sportsmanship rather than just expertise.

  • The Christopher J Bousie Memorial Prize (the gift of F W Bousie and family) for sportsman of the year
  • The F W Bousie Award for commitment to sport, donated by the Knox Past Parents' Club in memory of Frank Bousie, for an enthusiast from Year 5 who would otherwise not be recognised

  • Cricket:
    Munro Trophy for Bowling
    Snider Trophy
  • Football:
    Harrold Cup for Best and Fairest

  • OKGA Most Improved Awards recognising outstanding improvement and effort and good sportsmanship for the U9s, U10s, U11s and Open grades in each of:
