In 1924 Knox Grammar School came into being because of the vision of its founding fathers – Robert Gillespie, William McIlrath and Andrew Reid. The original land and its early buildings were largely funded by them; such was their belief and commitment to education, to young men and nation building.
The strength of their example and the success of their efforts encouraged others and when the need for additional facilities for the boys was identified, the community answered the call. Developments such as the John Williams Hall, the Lawson Centre, the Chapel and the Paterson Centre were all made possible through the funds provided by parents and supporters of the school. So, too, Curagul and the recently opened KG1 building.
This is why we have chosen to call our campaign for The Great Hall, Honouring our past – building the future. |

A message from the Campaign Chairman

I believe that we owe it to Knox boys to ensure that the education available to them at Knox Grammar School continues to be as rich, as inspiring and as relevant to the modern world as we can make it.
You are invited to join me, and the members of the fundraising team, in what will be a most rewarding activity for the long-term benefit of Knox Grammar School and its boys.
Past generations have funded the expansion and constant modernisation of Knox to make it what it is today. I hope you will support us as we give Knox boys the facilities to bring out the best in them for tomorrow. |
